Campus Outreach is a wonderful organization and ministry that I have gotten involved with
What I propose to do for my group is to make fliers to promote the weekly meeting time, which is Wednesday nights at 9:00 pm. The meetings are really fun, and it always great to have new people come. BRING FRIENDS! it is a great time. There is always great teaching of truth, and then there are snacks afterwards.
I am also planning on having some of my friends involved in Campus Outreach help me as well and get their input in what I should do to promote CO to the best of my ability. What I propose to do for my group is to make fliers to promote the weekly meeting time, which is Wednesday nights at 9:00 pm. Getting more people to come to campus outreach is an awesome idea. Just a suggestion, make sure that you let everyone that you invite know that there will be free snacks. A few friends of mine one told me that they will go to anything that provides free food. Haha. So just getting them there is the first step and after that it's not up to you :). Also, I personally have not yet been to campus outreach, but a few of my friends have gone before and they always tell me that when they go they don't ever feel welcomed there. Once you get the students there, in order to make them stay, so they actually get something out of it, they have to feel welcomed. I am not saying that you don't, because I don't know who you are, all I am saying is that maybe you should say something to the others who are more involved in campus outreach. I love the idea of campus outreach and hopefully I'll get off my lazy butt and go this week. :)
ReplyDeletethank you so much for your input, i appreciate it. i will definately say something to some people about others not feeling welcomed. I have noticed that can be a problem, and that is definately what should be going on.
ReplyDelete:) and i will definately say something about the snacks! :)
The biggest strength of the proposal is that your reaching out and bringing attention to God. I know that if it weren't for the big guy I wouldn't be holding up so well in college. You seem to be well organized in your thought process and since your already in a group you don't have to try and join something last minute like I do. I only really see one weakness. What is it that you do in Campus Outreach? Are you being preached at or are you actually being taught about the word? The only suggestion I have is definantly mention snacks, a lot. People love food and once they are there hopefully they will learn more about who gave them that food. Very awsome idea. Good Luck.
ReplyDeleteI think that your proposal is a very good idea. I like the idea of telling people when the meetings are. Maybe you should go into a little more detail about what goes on in the meeting besides you hear the truth and snacks afterwards. Do you read scriptures out of the bible or do you discuss what a certain passage interprets into? Live the previous response stated, people do love food and even mentioning that there will be snacks, could draw in more people than expected. They might even learn some things that they never expected to. Great idea!
